Temple in Bangkok

Because most of Thai people are Buddhist, temple is an important place. Everywhere you go, you’ll see a temple all the way. In Bangkok, there are many important temples and popular for tourist. For example, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or Wat Phra Kaew is the most important temple in Thailand. It’s located in the Grand Palace. The Emerald Buddha or Phra Kaew Morakot is the important Buddha image of Wat Phra Kaew. Next, Wat Arun or Wat Chaeng is located at the west bank of the Chao Phraya River.Wat Arun was build since Ayutthaya period. And the last,Wat Phra Chetuphon or Wat Pho is the largest temple in Bangkok. Wat Pho is located behind Wat Phra Kaew.And the famous activities at Wat Pho is Thai Massage.This just part of the temple in Bangkok.So,we should encourage and travel in Bangkok.

Bangkok has 50 districts under the authority of the Bangkok metropolitan administration that connect with the other province. In the North are connect with Nonthaburi and phathumthani province.The East are connect with Chachoengsao and Samut Prakran province.In the west is connect with Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pratom province and the last, In the south is connect with Samut prakran and the gulf of Thailand. Bangkpk is the largest area of business and transportation especially in the Silom ,Sathon, Bangruk, Pathumwan and chatuchak district and the governmental agencies and ministries area is in the Phra Nakhon and dusit district.

Symbol of Bangkok

In 1972, Mr.Chamnan Yuwaboon, Bangkok Governor, was improve the provincial seal of Bangkok from the original picture of “Prince Naris”. The seal is the picture of the god Indra riding the Erawan on the cloud. It’s mean the care and solve the problem of people.The tree symbol of Bangkok is Ficus Benjamina or in Thai call Sai Yoy Bai Lam.

History of Bangkok

In the past, Bangkok area is the important ports community and the center of trading. After the Ayutthaya was fall by the Burmese, In1767, King Taksin established the new capital at the west of Chao Praya River name “Thonburi”.After King Taksin death, King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke moved the capital to the east of the river named “ Krung Thep Mahonakhon” .Also , Bangkok is the name that the foreigners call the entire city of Krung Thep Mahanakhon and it’s the official English name. But in Thai,t Bangkok is mean the old district that located in the west of Chao Praya River.
